Mehwesh Hayat's biscuit advertisement was banned:

This method of creating advertisement is not suitable for trivial products like biscuits or surf, text of PEMRA notification
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned the publication of actress Mahesh Hayat's biscuit advertisement on public complaints. The action was taken by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) a day after the advertisement was aired on TV channels, as the advertisement was blocked by social media users. Declared against national culture and traditions, and sparked a debate in which consumers criticized Mahesh Hayat, after which PEMRA issued a formal notification banning Mahesh Hayat's advertisement. The notification directed that the videos of the advertisements should be checked by the Monitoring Committee. This method of making advertisements for minor products like biscuits or surf is not suitable. Happened, while it is against Pakistani society and culture.
On the other hand, senior journalist Ansar Abbasi thanked God for banning the advertisement of Mahesh Hayat. In a message on the social networking website Twitter, he wrote that Alhamdulillah! PEMRA has issued advisory to all TV channels, PBA and concerned agencies for running advertisements based on Mujra to sell biscuits on public protests and said that our values should be taken care of. I thank all those who raised their voices against this success.
