HH Sharjah ruler's wife donates 4.4 million dirhams to Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital:
HH Sheikha Jawahar Bint Mohammed Al-Qasimi, wife of the ruler of Sharjah, has announced a grant of 4.4 million dirhams for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center. The grant was earmarked for the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment to facilitate the launch of surgical oncology services at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in the provincial capital.
About 2,500 cancer patients will benefit from high-quality surgical facilities in fully equipped operating rooms with funding from the Amira Fund. Under the direction of HH Sheikha Jawahar Bint Mohammed Al-Qasimi, the project will be launched by the Ameera Fund, a global fund jointly launched by The Big Heart Foundation and The Friends of Cancer Patients.
The purpose of the grant is to support the hospital's humanitarian efforts, especially by increasing the overall capacity of the surgical department at the Shaukat Khanum Hospital and Research Center in Peshawar and providing financial assistance to 75% of the hospital's patients. This cooperation came after HH Sheikha Jawahar's visit to Pakistan in February this year when she met various humanitarian organizations including Shaukat Khan Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Lahore.
