The government has unveiled a list of 184 people who will receive civilian recognition on Pakistan Day (March 23, 2021) for their excellence in various fields.
President Dr. Arif Alvi announced civil praise on the country's 74th Independence Day. Those who will receive awards from the president include actors, poets, singers and soldiers, as well as foreign nationals for their services to the country.
Among the people who will receive Hilal-i-Imtiaz are painter ace Sadeqain Naqvi, Arts (Painting / Sculpture), Abida Parveen Arts (Singing) and the late poet Ahmed Faraz (poetry).
Sitara-i-Imtiaz will be introduced to well-known actors Bushra Ansari and Talat Hussain, among others.
Anchor Naeem Bukhari will also receive Sitara-i-Imtiaz. The philanthropist and head of the Edhi Faisal Edhi Foundation will receive the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz. The President's Award for Pride of Performance will be presented to Humayun Saeed, singer Ali Zafar and Maulana religious scholar Tariq Jameel and Sakina Samo.
Separately, Pakistan's President Dr Arif Alvi bestowed Nishan-i-Pakistan, the country's highest civilian recognition, on noted Kashmir leader Syed Ali Geelani in recognition of his decades-long struggle for the people's right to self-determination. kashmir.
A Hurriyat leader received the award from the president on behalf of Geelani at an investiture ceremony in Aiwan-e-Sadr, after hoisting the national flag on Pakistan's 74th Independence Day.
